Buderim Residence, Seamless Connection with Nature

This residential home has been designed by Chris Morrison from Morriarchi Architecture and is an exploration into minimal cantilevered building forms which capture the distant panoramic views of the ocean, Moreton Island and surrounding bush setting.
The residence’s minimal nature contracts against the properties natural setting but is softened by the use of natural landscaped elements and finishing materials of a domestic scale.
The extensive use of bi folding doors allow the living spaces to be seamlessly combined with outdoor entertaining areas, creating an open air living experience while enjoying the distant views. Breezway Altair Louvre Windows have been incorporated into the living spaces to help regulate cross flow ventilation and to further provide unobstructed views of the outdoor environment.
The upper and lower terrace act as an alternative external living space when predominate south easterly winds are being experienced offering the occupants an outdoor living experience in all weather conditions. A sliding Altair Louvre Window panel has been installed in the outdoor kitchen area to offer protection from the elements in bad weather yet airflow can also be precisely controlled by angling the louvre blades when open to ensure the comfort of occupants is maintained at all times.
