Great Ventilation to all Areas of the Home

South Coast, New South Wales, Australia

The Beach House project was designed on the principle of cross flow ventilation and in order to effectively achieve this, Breezway Altair Louvre Windows (supplied by Hanlon Windows) were specified in aluminium frames, with low profile handles and insect mesh.

This modern pavilion-style beach house was originally a simple weatherboard beachside cottage, however with the owner’s desire of coastal living, a series of window products such as Altair Louvres were incorporated to maximise the spectacular views and great ventilation to all areas of the home.

The upper level bedroom benefits from AWS Stacking doors with Altair Louvres coupled to the doors, connecting the breathtaking views of Jervis Bay, while allowing natural light and airflow to create a comfortable environment for the owners to enjoy. In addition to this, a private ground level studio provides secluded accommodation for visitors, featuring large stacking doors with Altair Louvres all facing due east glimpsing the water views through the courtyard.

This project won the 2009 Australian Window Association Award for ‘Best use of Windows and Doors in a Residential Renovation’.
